Sam Bangert February 2 at 9:29pm · Sorry for the late post it's been a busy week: For round one of the NHHA series I would would begin prepping early in the week trying to get my bike running in tip top shape (in which I did). My mother, girlfriend, and I would head out in the am on Saturday morning out to the race site. I would test my awesome tbt suspension to get it the best I could possibly make it. Saturday was filled with fun and testing and a good time with family and i went to bed early to get a good night sleep. Sunday morning I woke up early to get my bike on the line. My start was one of the best starts I've ever had, I was top ten to the end of the bomb. I passed a lot of people and I also got passed by a lot of people. Coming in after the first loop I was inside the top 20, I got a quick pit from Michael Allenand my dad and was off on the second loop. The second loop was very fun and technical, but you could make a lot of mistakes, which I did. I had a lot of fun and know what to work on (patience) to get the win next round. I ended up 2nd open expert and 20th overall. Thank you to all my sponsors; amsoil, team true racing, vonzipper, moose racing, FMF, Racetech, Dunlop, parts unlimited, FasstCompany Flexx Handlebars, AME grips, dirt tricks, rekluse, ims, rsi, asterisk, rad mfg. Round 1 Race Report:
Lots of preperation went into this race. Bike was running perfect, everything was triple checked and I was in great shape. Ran unclassified on friday on the practice bike. Bike ran great and had a little spill in a turn and broke the front break lever. I finished the lap and went to camp to swap levers and went back out and finished. The coarse was fast and fun. Saturday came around and I had an ok start, was right behind @thmotox after he took a nasty digger. Lost a couple positions after the first few turns but after I got in my groove I was passing everyone back and picking my way towards the top. Around halfway through the first lap the motor locked up and my day was over. It was a devastating day for me and my Dad but there is nothing I could have done about it. Yesturday is history and tomorrow's your mystery and I will be back for round 2 and ready to go. I just want to thank God for keeping me safe during the race and @dperkins71 @teamtrueracing @jeanneyoung01 for all the support along with @wrench_league @primecutconstruction and @tbtracing. Thanks to all my sponsors @fasstcompany @johnburrcycles @imsproducts @onealracing @teamevs @evssports @radcustomgraphics @xbrandgoggles @stioffroad @protaper |
